What is GliSODin®?

GliSODin is the first orally-effective SOD supplement.  A scientific breakthrough for the delivery of SOD, GliSODin's patented SOD/Gliadin complex assures that the SOD's integrity is protected from breaking down the digestive track and Gliadin helps promote delivery of SOD to be utilized by the body.

What is SOD?

SOD (Superoxide Dismutase) is an enzyme that catalyzes the breakdown of the aggressive free radicals produced by oxygen metabolism which can damage our cells.

SOD transforms the most reactive, and therefore, the most dangerous, free radicals 'the superoxide radicals' into ions that are less reactive. These less reactive ions are then transformed by Catalase and Gpx. This transformation is called dismutation, thus its name Superoxide Dismutase.

What is oxidative stress?

Oxidative stress is the physiological stress on the body caused by the damage of free radicals which are inadequately neutralized by antioxidants.

 What are antioxidants?

An antioxidant is an organic molecule that counteracts the damaging effects of oxidation in order to protect the body from negative effects from free radicals. 

There are two types of antioxidants:

  • Primary antioxidants are made by the body, thus internally provided. This internal antioxidant defense system includes Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), Catalase and Glutathione Peroxidase (Gpx), which are the first, and most powerful, line of defense against oxidative stress.
     

  • Secondary antioxidants are externally provided from dietary sources, such as vitamins (vitamins A, C and E), minerals (selenium, zinc, copper and manganese) and other substances, including polyphenols found in grapes and green tea. These dietary antioxidants contribute to the antioxidant reserve, yet play a secondary role to the body's own antioxidants.

What is the mechanism of action for GliSODin?

 
GliSODin activates the most powerful antioxidants known, the body's own internal antioxidant defense system, including superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase and Glutathione Peroxidase (Gpx).

 What are the ingredients in GliSODin? 

GliSODin's effectiveness is due to the two unique compounds from which its name is derived, Gliadin and SOD. First, GliSODin provides a melon source of SOD. Second, GliSODin is protected by gliadin, a wheat protein that guards SOD during digestion, making GliSODin a completely vegetarian product. 

In addition to protecting the SOD, Gliadin is a patented, scientific breakthrough in the delivery of the SOD. Gliadin has bio-adhesive properties that make GliSODin "stick" to the epithelial cells in the small intestine, presenting the SOD for utilization by the body. 

Why do people need GliSODin?

Our antioxidant defense system, including SOD, plays the primary role in the protection against oxidative stress.  However, as we age our ability to synthesize these innate antioxidants is reduced.  Further, exposure to the environment, oxidative stress caused by health challenges, and the stresses of daily life can diminish these levels and reduce our surplus reserves in the battle against excessive free radicals.

 Is GliSODin safe?

GliSODin is a completely vegetarian product that is well tolerated and is safe for consumption.  Numerous safety and toxicology tests have been conducted prior to its introduction as a supplement.  GliSODin does contain a wheat biopolymer and is a source of gluten.  For this reason, GliSODin is NOT recommended for anyone with wheat or gluten sensitivities.

  Is GliSODin Patented?

Yes, currently there are two patents awarded for GliSODin.  The combination of SOD and Gliadin as an orally delivery is patented, and therapeutic uses of the combination of ingredients is patented. 

 Is GliSODin a vegetarian friendly ingredient? 

 GliSODin is a 100% vegetable product, derived from a cantaloupe-type melon and wheat.

 Who should be taking GliSODin?

 GliSODin is best suited for people facing significant levels of oxidative stress.  Anyone who is interested in reducing oxidative stress and protecting themselves against free radicals should consider taking GliSODin.

GliSODin is a source of gluten and is NOT recommended for anyone with wheat or gluten sensitivities.

 GliSODin is not recommended for anyone who is pregnant or for children.

Is GliSODin safe to take with prescription medications and other supplements? 

There are no known interactions between GliSODin and other substances.  However, we recommend you consult your physician before taking with any medications or other supplements.

Is there a recommended dosage for GliSODin?

The recommended dosage for GliSODin is between 250 mg and 500 mg depending on individual need.

What is the shelf life of GliSODin?

GliSODin has been shown to be stable for more than two years under normal storage conditions.

How is GliSODin sold?
